Krister Widell is currently Project Leader of New Distribution Channels & Media Library at the Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company. The topic of his talk is "The Transformation of an Educational Broadcaster to a Provider of digital Learning Objects"

The emerging digital environments are ideal for the production, publishing and distribution of learning content. The Swedish Educational Broadcasting Company aired its first program in 1928. This presentation will deal with what happens in traditional analogue media company when digital technology is introduced. The change is not only technological but it will also require a change of minds.

• In a world (soon to be) where anybody can be a publisher of audio and video, what will be the role of a traditional broadcaster?
• Also in a concrete way, what happens when a media library is introduced together with standards for metadata and what new ways of distributing programs and learning objects are available?
