Within the APOSDLE integrated project (www.aposdle.org) we are researching a type of learning which is deeply intertwined with work and work tasks. We are investigating which types of learning situations knowledge workers experience during their every day work - even if they do not perceive them as learning. Such situations include but are not limited to searching for information concerning a specific topic in order to write a report, asking a colleague for advice in order to improve ones project plan, staying up to date with new developments of a field without having to bother with the basics all over again. Within this talk I will introduce the "paradigm" of work-integrated learning and discuss the distinguishing factors from typical elearning approaches. Based on this I will then propose a number of mechanisms and tools which could support the knowledge workers during these situations. One of the mechanisms we are researching are "learning templates". |
