Martin Wessner

Dr. Martin Wessner is currently a professor at the University of Munich. His research interests include contextual collaboration, computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) and community support. He has a diploma (1992) and PhD (2004) in Computer Science and a Master equivalent degree in pedagogy (1997), all from University of Darmstadt. From 1992 until 1997 he worked in the field of (computer-based) learning and training as a research assistant at the University of Aachen, Germany. From 1997 until 2001 he was project manager at the GMD research center working in CSCL and CSCW. Form 2002 he was head of the department "Cooperative Environments and e-Learning" at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Publication and Information Systems (IPSI). Since end of 2006 he is a professor at University of Munich (LMU).
