Andreas Schmidt

Andreas Schmidt is a senior researcher and department manager at FZI Research Center for Information Technologies in Karlsruhe, Germany and responsible for the competence area Knowledge & Learning within the research unit Information Process Engineering. He studied computer science (databases & telematics) and vocational pedagogy at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany.

He has been working in and coordinating several European and national projects in the field of workplace learning, knowledge management, and context-awareness. He currently is Scientific Coordinator for the Integrating Project MATURE, and has recently been involved in the EU projects AGENT-DYSL (on reading support for children with dyslexia) and the IP SOPRANO on ambient-assisted living. Previously, he worked in the FP5 project Learning in Process on context-aware workplace learning support.
