Call for Papers
The International Telework Academy (ITA) has announced a call for papers for the 11th International Telework Workshop hosted by the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
The four day event is entitled e-Networks in an Increasingly Volatile World and aims to encourage academic researchers and business practitioners to generate interactive dialogue and share ideas around the development and maintenance of computer-mediated networks. On the last day of the event is an open forum where academic research is shared with key practitioners that can comment on current topics in the fields of e-networks.
Workshop sessions will consist of papers that have been accepted by way of a double-blind review process. Papers are welcome from practitioners and academics in the disciplines of business administration, computing and information systems, the built environment and civic planning, sociology, psychology, education and e-learning. Given the diversity of disciplines, we welcome contributions that draw on multidisciplinary themes that include any of the above. We are particularly interested in contributions that offer empirical and theoretical analysis of e-networks in the context of a turbulent, or volatile environment. Specifically, we currently invite papers in the following streams:
Special Streams for Workshop 2006
1) Mitigating risk via E-networks.
2) Creating public infrastructures that support E-networks
3) Work/life balance: The tangled web of work and home networks.
Standing E-Work Streams
1) Organizational Change (complexity, ambiguity, conflict)
2) Technological Innovations/Support (platforms, collaboration)
3) Workspace Design (facilities, virtual space)
4) HRM Practices (diversity, professional development, retention)
5) E-learning in the workplace (content, delivery)
6) Community/Regional Initiatives (job creation, community viability, public policy)

In light of this, we permit submission of extended abstracts for review by the technical committee.
