The next meeting of the IEEE Learning Technologies Standards
Committee will take place on
March 28-31 2006
ARIADNE, ProLearn and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven host the
meetings at
Departement Computerwetenschappen, Celestijnenlaan 200 A,
B3001 Leuven, Belgium
Highlights will include continued joint work on convergence between
metadata standards, reference models for content aggregations and
interoperability standards for representing and exchanging
competencies, skills and learning objectives. Reports will be given
on other projects, including a study group examining standards for
interfacing SCORM with simulations and the formal IEEE process
through which a recommended practice for Digital Rights Expression
Languages is now going.
More information about the venue is available at
http://www.cs.kuleuven.be/. Information about “how to get there” is at
http://www.cs.kuleuven.be/cs/algemene_info/plan/index-E.shtml. Leuven
is a 20 min taxi ride from Brussels airport - it takes about as long
to get to the center of Brussels :)
In order to deal with the logistics involved, we kindly ask you to
send an email to erik.duval@cs.kuleuven.be if you plan to
participate. We will provide sandwich lunch and coffee and would
appreciate your financial support in the form of 50 euros or US
dollars per person, to be paid in cash at the event. Please feel free
to contact us if you have any questions regarding this meeting!
The draft agenda for the meeting is:
* 28 March: Digital Rights Expression Language
* 29 March: Learning Object Metadata
* 29 March: Competency
* 30-31 March: CMI-RAMLET
(The updated agenda will be available at http://ieeeltsc.org/about/ltscmarch2006meeting)
