In the context of the European Large-Scale Integrating Project (IP) MATURE, we offer a position as a

    scientific researcher (full-time)
   
with the opportunity to obtain a PhD degree within the Information Process Engineering (IPE) research unit of FZI (http://www.fzi.de/ipe/).

FZI is a technology-transfer center with close ties to the University Karlsruhe covering a wide range of information technology. It provides unique interdisciplinary opportunities to conduct application-oriented research and to transfer results to industrial partners.

We are looking for graduates in Business Engineering and Management, Information Management, Information Systems, but also other disciplines with strong focus on information technologies.

The main focus of the position will be on:
- development, analysis and assessment of instruments to overcome motivational barriers in companies in the context of knowledge processes
- empirical assessment of collaborative web 2.0 tools to steer innovation
- development of models for knowledge maturing in the context of individual and organisational learning processes

MATURE has a duration of 4 years (initial job contract will be for two years) and offers the possibilty of cooperating with the European MATURE partner network, representing the leading companies and research institutions in the field of knowledge management and technology-enhanced learning as well as adjoining disciplines. The position will be paid according to the on the German public labor contract (TV-L E13).

We are looking especially for creative people with outstanding degrees, capable of integrating fundamental scientific research and the ability to implement ideas for practical use.

We expect:
- very good English in speaking and writing; German is advantageous, but not an absolute prerequisite
- deepened understanding of at least one of the areas knowledge management, individual/organizational learning in companies, motivational psychology
- deep technical and economic analysing and modeling skills
- interest in interdisciplinary and application oriented scientific work
- ability to work in a self-directed way
- practical experience during the studies

- support for achieving a PhD at the University of Karlsruhe - Department of Economics and Business Engineering (Prof. Christof Weinhardt) with a mentoring system
